  • 3 green onions (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tbsp ginger (minced)
  • 4 cups chicken or beef broth
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 12 oz wontons (frozen chicken or turkey)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • For the homemade chili oil: neutral oil, red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, garlic, ginger, sugar, salt

Instructions

  1. For the chili oil, combine chili flakes, sesame seeds, garlic, ginger, sugar, and salt in a heat-safe bowl. Heat neutral oil in a small pan until hot and pour over the mixture. Stir and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, melt coconut oil and sauté the chopped white parts of green onions along with minced ginger and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer for about five minutes.
  4. Add the frozen wontons along with soy sauce. Simmer for an additional few minutes until heated through.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with green onion tops and drizzled with homemade chili oil.
