  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 large tomato, pureed
  • 1 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together coriander, cumin, turmeric, paprika, and garam masala to create the spice blend.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat; sauté chopped onions until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high and add beef; sear until browned on all sides.
  5. Stir in the spice mix and toast for about 30 seconds.
  6. Add pureed tomato and broth; bring to a boil then reduce heat to low.
  7. Cover and let simmer for 60–75 minutes until beef is tender.
  8. Adjust seasoning if necessary, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve hot.
