Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together sugar, sour cream, softened butter, and eggs until creamy. Mix in mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  3. Sift in flour, baking soda, and salt; gently mix with a rubber spatula until combined. Fold in walnuts if using.
  4. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for about 10 minutes before frosting.
  5. For the frosting, melt butter in a pan over medium heat until browned. Transfer to a bowl and whisk in powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
