Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate cookies
  • Extra mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until foamy. Mix in sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Gradually add flour and salt until a slightly sticky dough forms. Knead in blue food coloring until evenly distributed. Let rise for 1 to 1½ hours.
  2. For the filling, mix softened butter with brown sugar and cinnamon, then stir in crushed cookies and chocolate chips.
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, and roll tightly. Slice into 12 rolls.
  4. Place rolls in a greased baking dish; let rise again for 30 to 45 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. For the icing, beat together cream cheese and butter; gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
