Creamy, quick, and bursting with flavor, this Gordon Ramsay Beef Stroganoff Recipe is the perfect solution for a satisfying weeknight dinner. With tender rib-eye steak, earthy mushrooms, and a velvety sauce, this dish combines comfort and elegance in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 600 g rib-eye steak
  • 300 g cremini mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 150 ml full-fat sour cream
  • 500 ml low-salt beef broth
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp neutral oil
  • Egg noodles or tagliatelle for serving

Instructions

  1. Pound the rib-eye steak to ¾ cm thick and slice it into strips. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of neutral oil in a cast iron skillet over high heat. Sear half the beef strips for about 30 seconds per side until browned; transfer to a plate.
  3. Repeat with remaining beef strips.
  4. Lower the heat and melt butter in the same skillet. Sauté sliced onions for one minute before adding mushrooms; cook until golden brown (about four minutes).
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir for one minute to create a roux.
  6. Deglaze with half a cup of beef broth while scraping up browned bits. Add remaining broth and Dijon mustard; simmer for five minutes.
  7. Stir in sour cream off heat until smooth.
  8. Return beef to skillet and warm through on low heat for one minute.
  9. Serve over buttered egg noodles or tagliatelle topped with chopped chives.
