  • ½ cup distilled white vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 2 garlic cloves
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon gochugaru (or red pepper flakes)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the radishes under cold water, then slice off both ends and peel them. Cut into evenly sized cubes.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves completely; then let cool to room temperature.
  3. If desired, add garlic and gochugaru to the radish cubes in an airtight jar.
  4. Pour the cooled pickling liquid over the radishes until submerged.
  5. Seal tightly and refrigerate overnight for best flavor.
