  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Chop the onion, mince the garlic, grate the ginger, and cut the lamb into chunks.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil and brown the lamb chunks for about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker along with browned lamb, spices, diced tomatoes, and yogurt. Stir well to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until tender.
